    118800 - Safety Town

    Safety Town is a nationally recognized safety education program presented by the Downers Grove Police Department, Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club, Downers Grove Park District and teen volunteers. A mini safety town, complete with kid-sized buildings, street signs and sidewalks, provides an environment where children learn pedestrian, passenger and at-home safety. Children ride big wheel trikes and enjoy visits by local school bus and fire department staff, while learning bike, school bus and fire safety lessons. Families are invited to Graduation Day on the last day of each session, where children receive a certificate and share their learning experience. Each child receives an official Safety Town T-shirt and class picture. A detailed program outline is provided prior to the start of the program. Child must be entering kindergarten and be age specified by September 1.

Creativity and imagination abound as campers actively engage in their world through arts & crafts, stories, songs, indoor and outdoor games and free play time. Camp activities enhance social skills and ease separation anxiety. Camp includes a daily nut-free snack. Children must be age specified within one week after the start of the class and toilet-trained (no Pull Ups).

    Designed for participants in Adventure Camp and Teen Trekkers, the Before & After Hours program offers working parents an option for full-day care during the summer. A supervised, low-key setting is provided. Activities range from organized games to board games, and crafts. Participants interact in mixed-age groups during before hours program.

    120027 - Mom + Tot Book Club

    Moms, bring your toddler with you to this kid-friendly book club! Book club members meet at the DG Museum once a month to discuss the selected book while the tots create fun crafts. Snacks will be provided for both Moms and tots. This season, the DGM book club will read works about political, pioneering and activist 20th century American women. The program fee includes the cost of snacks and craft supplies, but it does not include the book.
